Mission Statement

To provide, in a congenial atmosphere, effective evidence-based, client-oriented physiotherapy with the aim of returning clients to maximal functional capacity in the most efficient timeframe.


Service Delivery Description

Our primary patient caseload consists of outpatient orthopaedics of any age.

We currently assess and treat injuries sustained as a result of motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, as well as degenerative changes associated with age, including any arthritis. We do occasionally treat neurological conditions.

The emphasis of treatment is is on manual techniques that include exercise prescription.

We continually attempt to evalulate new research and will alter our theory of treatment accordingly.

Assessment and progress progress can be provided to physicians.

We offer treatments for a wide variety of issues that leave you feeling dizzy. At Grand River Physiotherapy, we have the knowledge and facilities to make you feel like yourself again.

Joint Replacement

Shoulder exercise used in rehab

We offer rehabilitation for different types of joint replacements including but not limited to shoulder, knee, and hip. We offer guidance and a home exercise program to regain your activities of daily life.

Orthopaedics

Traction treatment

We at Grand River Physiotherapy are fully knowledgable on various types of orthopaedic conditions. Modalities may include mechanical traction, physiological stretches, and much more.

FAQ

A doctor’s referral is not required to see a physiotherapist in private practice. Please refer to E.H. (extended health) if referrals are required. It is your responsibility to inquire about your coverage. A physician’s referral is required for physiotherapy under OHIP clinic.

Physiotherapists need to test and measure muscle flexibility, strength and joint mobility to determine the biomechanical cause of a physical problem in order to develop a personalized treatment program.

Grand River Physiotherapy does provide services covered by OHIP. Check our OHIP page to see if you qualify.

The following can cover physiotherapy services:

  • Extended health insurance plans or benefits programs associated with your employment
  • Auto Insurance

If you have been involved in an automobile accident, you may be able to access physiotherapy services. These services are submitted to your automobile insurer.

Charges for the assessment and treatment are in accordance with the Ontario Physiotherapy Association Guidelines and are as follows:

Dizziness Assessment $125.00
Dizziness Treatment $95.00
Orthopaedic Assessment $100.00
Orthopaedic Treatment $65.00
Prices listed do not account for OHIP. Please check your OHIP to see if you qualify for any deductions.

We can bill directly to most major insurance companies. Alternatively, we accept cash, cheque, and debit as forms of payment. Appointments can be booked 3 – 4 weeks in advance. Please provide us with at least 24 hour notice for cancellations.

Our policy is to charge a $30 fee for missed appointments that were not cancelled 24 hours in advance. Our answering service operates 24 hours a day so that cancellations can be called in to 519-621-3265 at any time.
