Acupuncture in Physiotherapy
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles (you can fit 3 into the hollow of a regular hypodermic needle) into various areas of the skin and body tissues. This technique can be used as an effective way to relieve acute or chronic pain and muscle spasm. Research shows that acupuncture stimulates the brain to produce natural pain relieving chemicals - endorphins.
At Grand River Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Centre our physiotherapists have been trained by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada. We use only the highest quality, sterile, single-use, disposable needles.
